The Fierce Urgency of Now
The Urgent Challenge for Humanity: To create an alternative operating system to the Strongman, top-down leadership system that has taken us to the edge of extinction
The Urgent Challenge

We are at the end of the Strongman Era.
For 5,000 years, the Traditional Governance Model has been:
The Powerful Few make the rules
For the Powerless Many to obey
With Armed Enforcers ensuring compliance.

It's also known as the Strongman Model for obvious reasons.
There is always a disconnect between what the powerful few desire and what the powerless many desire. The larger the gap, the greater the number of armed enforcers needed.
The model holds true for monarchies (historical UK), oligarchies (Russia), theocracies (Iran), single party states (China), even democracies (USA and modern UK). It's ubiquitous.
The kind of people who become leaders - the Strongmen - worship at the Church of Money, Power and Dominance and want those things in their own nation but internationally too. (It's called empire building!).
Propaganda, fear and shows of strength are their tools of choice. They lead to situations like America dropping a bomb on a girls' elementary school in Iran or Russia losing a million soldiers in Ukraine.
And with the advent of artificial intelligence (AI), systemic surveillance (SS) and autonomous weapons (AW), Strongmen have brought us to the edge of extinction. They have no incentive to lead us away from the edge because AI, SS and AW lock in their power (or so the theory goes).
Why are we at the end of the Strongman Era? Because the model is starting to crumble. It worked while regular people were uneducated and had little access to information. But that is no longer the case - the bulk of the world's knowledge, creativity and energy lie in the Powerless Many.
And they are craving a new style of governance, one that creates the future not clings to the past. A kind of future that the beneficiaries of the status quo are in no hurry to adopt. Once someone claws their way to the top, they don't give up power easily.
The Response
We - the Powerless Many - have three options.
- Do nothing - let the future unfold how they want it to, with vaporization being a distinct possibility
- Resist and revolt - with the attendant loss of life (don't forget the Powerful Few have the armed enforcers and advanced weapons on their side). And even if the revolution is successful, then what?
- Find a new way, an alternative that renders the traditional Strongman obsolete and more importantly, brings peace to the world. After all, the bulk of the world's knowledge, creativity and energy lie in the Powerless Many.
Response #3: the Citizen-led Future (CLF)
It's new and it's empowers the Powerless Many:
- Instead of top-down, it is bottom up. It puts citizens in the driver's seat.
- Instead of being DINO (democracy in name only), a citizen-led democracy is real democracy.
- Instead of citizens doing the bidding of politicians, politicians follow the citizens.
Citizens lead, hence the name.
The Citizen-led Future is where regular people who care about the future and the planet (GenR - the reinvention generation) find and own their power, reinvent the rules, and lead the world to peace, opportunity and wellbeing for all (POW4all).
This website
This website introduces the concept of CLF. It is divided into 5 sections, each of 3 posts:
- Intro - introduces the Challenge, Response and Roadmap
- The Rising - detailing how we can create CLF and POW4all
- Invitation - for GenR in general and for Americans and young people in particular
- USA - how to Make America Really Great... Eventually
- Big Picture - where we are, how we got here and an eagles eye view of the future.
Call to Action
There are 2 options open to you.
You are invited to join GenR for free by signing up for the CLF mailing list.
Or, for US $60, you can become a Founder (and therefore an owner) of the GenR Leaders Center Cooperative (GLCC), the bottom up organization that coordinates the movements within the Roadmap.
In June 2026 we will hold the first General Meeting and you will elect the Board and Management of GLCC. (You can stand for election if you would like).
Then, together, we create the momentum leading to the Citizen-led Future.
Isn't this a bit of a crazy notion?
After all, it's never been done before and something along these lines is never talked about.
- It's never been done before because there has never been the technology to enable it; there is now.
- It's never talked about because the establishment (politicians, military, media, experts, lobbyists) all benefit (make money and gain power) from the system as it is. There is no incentive for them to change the game. There is for us.
- That's why GenR are the ones who are going to make change. We're not yet part of the governance conversation, thus bring fresh eyes and fresh knowledge, creativity and energy to it.
Even if you think this an idea doomed to failure and that you would be crazy to join, have a look at this.
It's time to be crazy...
Imagine

Sit in a quiet space; close your eyes; breathe deeply a few times and relax your body.
Imagine letting go of the stress and tightness in your body from having to constantly fight the system. Then do it. Relax your body further.
Now, imagine living your life at that reduced level of stress because you are creating a system that works with you and not against you. You are owning your power to be yourself not who the old rules say you should be. You can feel your space expanding. You are creating peace, opportunity and wellbeing for yourself.
Now imagine doing that with others. Together, you are leading the world to peace, opportunity and wellbeing for all.
It doesn't matter that others may look at you as crazy. You are breaking free!
Take a couple more deep breaths and open your eyes. Welcome back, crazy one!
One More Thing
I love everything about this video. The occasion, the staging, Seal's performance, the man checking his phone while Seal is performing right next to him and of course, the song.
I first heard Crazy in December 1990, as my flight was coming into Heathrow Airport. The First Gulf War was raging. How appropriate the lyric "we're never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy" was then and still is today.
Here's to the crazy ones!
So
Are you crazy enough to be a leader in the Citizen-led Future, i.e. a Founder of GLCC, to own your power, to help reinvent democracy and lead the world to POW4all?
If so, hit the "I'm Ready" button and give yourself a gift you'll remember all your life. (As will your spouse, children, friends etc.).
