Hello! I’m Roger Mutimer

You can tell a lot from a picture.

You can tell that I’ve been around the sun more than a few times.

You can tell I prefer casual to formal (a power portrait it’s not!).

And you can tell I’ve still got my own (English) teeth.

What you can’t tell is why someone who is past retirement age is launching something like the Citizen-led Future (CLF) and whether you can trust that it is going to work.

Will it work?

To answer the second question first: I don’t know if it’s going to work, because something like the Rising has never been tried before. But I do know that what we have now - Strongman Leadership - is not working and is leading humanity to inevitable extinction.

If you come on this journey, you are a pioneer. Like those people who hitched their chuck wagons and opened up the West of the US, you do it because of a desire for a better life and a sense of adventure. You don’t know the outcome of the trip in advance, but nonetheless you take it.

And while the a Citizen-led Future has its risks, it’s outcome will almost certainly lead to a better life for all of us.

Why am I doing this?

As for the first question, well it’s like this…

I was born in post-WW2 England and raised in the thick of the class war. When I was 23, I took my own chuck wagon ride to a mining town in British Columbia. (Culture shock!)

Since then my life has been a tale of two journeys.

The first is my 40+ year business journey. Outward-facing, left-brain, logical, action-oriented, competitive, yang energy. I call it my power journey.

The journey encompassed sales, accounting, banking, consulting and C-suite experience in packaged goods, social services and software. I've been an employee, executive, entrepreneur and volunteer. A bit of a roller-coaster career but rich in experiences looking at situations with different eyes than industry norms.

The second is a search for meaning - how the universe works and my place in it. More internal, creative, heart-based, connected, yin energy. I call it my love journey. One of meditation, introversion and amazing, often unexplainable, experiences.

Logical growth vs. magical transformation.

For me, both are necessary, neither is sufficient on its own. My major challenge has been integration of the two.

Why GenR Rising?

GenR Rising is also a journey of power and love. I’m a great believer in the saying by Jimi Hendrix:

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power,
the world will know peace”.

You can see that thought ripple through this website.

And Martin Luther King Jr. said,

“Those who love peace must learn to organize as effectively
as those who love war”.

GenR - the reinvention generation - are those who love peace. The programs herein are how they organize effectively.

Why now?

Because I’m finally ready.

But more importantly, I believe people, especially young people, are ready for the transformation that a Citizen-led Future and peace, opportunity and wellbeing for all will bring.

I may never see it, but they will. GenR are the peacemakers and the future leaders the world so desperately needs.
